Song Of The Day 3/4

Ready for the song of the day?

Good. I'm glad.

The song of the day is "Locked Out" by Mike Lombardo. It is really profound, with amazing imagery, and the piano is excellent.

Lyrics? Lyrics.

Locked Out - Mike Lombardo

I'm sitting out here on my own
with the moth around the front porch lamp that shines behind me
it's funny how you'd never know
that your home is really not your home
if you forget the key

you said you'd be home soon
but I don't want to wait that long
you said you'd be home soon
but I'm locked out.

I'm sitting out here on my own
does everybody else feel just as empty?
Are you happy when there's nothing left to own?
Or is there something deep inside that's more than I can see?

and I've been standing here for years and years
just drowning all my fears with self control
and now I think there might be something more
than waiting for the years to take their toll

I'm sitting out here on my own
I see your headlights on the pavement as you pull into the driveway
it's funny how you'd never know
that your life is really not your life
if you forget the key
and I'm locked out.

I think this song shows a real insight on abandonment, which is something you don't usually get nowadays.

I'm glad it exists.

Commenting is awesome. Keeps the BunnyMonster at bay.
